4. My car is sitting in storage. Do I still need insurance?
Yes, Arizona requires all vehicles carry state minimum liability coverage unless the vehicle has been de-registered with the state MVD.
5. What is Actual Cash Value (ACV) and Replacement Cost?
ACV (Actual Cash Value) and Replacement Cost are two ways that insurance carriers use to determine a loss settlement valuation, or the amount an insured is to claim in the event of a covered loss.
ACV represents the depreciated value of an item, used by insurers to determine compensation after loss or damage. ACV is calculated by subtracting depreciation from the replacement cost of a vehicle at the time of loss.
Replacement Cost refers to the amount that’s needed to replace an asset at the current market price, commonly used by businesses and insurers to assess coverage and asset management. Replacement Cost is an amount that a company pays to replace an essential asset that is priced at the same or equal value.
6. How can I lower my auto premium?
Most insurance carriers will offer applicants discounts for meeting certain criteria. The most common discount is a multi-policy discount, which incentivizes insureds to bundle their policies under the same insurer.
Discounts can include:
- Claims Free Discounts
- Good Student Discounts
- Driver Monitoring Enrollment
- Paperless Billing
